Protoman Cosplay - Part 4 - Final (The Tallest Protoman Ever)
Finished! I made the western bib last weekend with some similar fabric to the shirt. I prefer keeping things easy, so I used fabric glue instead of learning how to sew. I then superglued the buttons to the front. The bib is completely removable, thanks to fabric tape, so I’ll be able to wear the shirt after I’m done with the cosplay.
I ordered a Tint-a-Shield online for the helmet. It’s a tinted re-applyable film that I put on the inside of the visor to make it darker. Now, even with flash photography, you can’t see my face through the visor.
I found my old studded belt and decided it would go with the costume. I also decided to wear a bandana on my leg, like Panther sometimes does, to add some more red.
The boots I ordered online finally came in the mail today. They are the wrong size, which is unfortunate, because I really liked them. I replaced them with some Dockers that I found on sale. Fortunately, with the jeans, you can’t even tell the difference. In the picture I’m actually wearing one of each shoe.
It’s been really fun making this costume. A lot of the clothing items I bought were items that I plan on wearing regularly even after the cosplay is finished, like the shirt, jeans, and shoes. All of our group’s costumes look great and I can’t wait to get some pics of us all together this weekend.
